Microsoft patents the mother of all adware systems

It's such a tremendously bad idea that it's almost bound to succeed. Microsoft has filed another patent, this one for an "advertising framework" that uses "context data" from your hard drive to show you advertisements and "apportion and credit advertising revenue" to ad suppliers in real time. Yes, Redmond wants to own the patent on the mother of all adware.

The application, filed in 2006, describes a multi-faceted, robust ad-delivering system that lives on a "user computer, whether it's part of the OS, an application or integrated within applications."

Corporate Hiring Practices

This is disturbing. This is how U.S. corporations are hiring foreign workers on work visas. They are posting bogus employment ads in newspaper classifieds, monster.com and other online job sites. The ads are written in a way so that no one applies for the job. This way the company can legally hire a foreign worker since they are unable to find a qualified U.S. applicant.

Coexist

I saw a really cool bumper sticker on a car over the weekend. It said Coexist and it looked like.

Every letter has a symbol that represents a system of thought: The crescent and star for Islam; the pentagram for Wicca; the relativity formula for science; the star of David for Judaism; the Karma Wheel dotting the i for Buddhism; the Tao symbol for Taoism; the cross for Chrisitianity.

Religious strife has caused more wars and deaths than any other cause in the history of mankind. The ironic thing is that 3 of the major religions Christianity, Islam and Judaism all worship the same god, but in different ways.

Religion is supposed to teach people how to be better people not make them more violent.

This might not be the most popular viewpoint but if people would just realize that everyone shares this earth and not everyone has the same beliefs but can coexist with each other, then this planet will be a better place to live.

NHL All Star Game Starting Lineup

The NHL All Star Game will be played Jan. 24th 2007 in the American Airlines Center in Dallas TX. The starting lineup was release today and no Rory Fitzpatrick didn't make it. The remainder of the rosters will be released on Jan. 13th. The starting line ups are the following:
