I'm a 2nd level Tech Support Rep for AT&T DSL. I work almost solely with business customers. We get these customers that totally embellish the importance of their dsl connection.

I had this customer that called in today trying to get the speed on his dsl connection increased. He is past the maximum distance that we guarantee that dsl will work and he has been advised of this numerous times before. He claimed that due to the slow speed of his connection they lost $40,000 dollars in business yesterday and had to fire 5 people because of a missed deadline. Come on, is this guy that stupid. Does he think we actually believe him, and if it is true then it sounds like he's a moron and shouldn't be running a business in the first place. If he is that stupid maybe he did the people he fired a favor. If his internet connection is that important then he would have a different more reliable service instead of a service that only cost $29.95 a month thats not even guranteed to be reliable. Buy a T1 and stop calling us.
